Cath's Moroccan Travels

Our very own peoples choice winner Cath Bamber has just returned from a photographic trip to Morocco.
Her work is truly beautiful, exploring the vivid colour, texture and culture found in the local environment. Click here to visit the gallery page containing Cath's jealousy inducing images. Again, I'm so proud I could burst.

And the winners are...
In a very, and I mean very tight contest, the votes from Thursday night have been counted and the results are in. Everyone had a vast number of votes, no one student didn't receive any votes so that is a great reflection of the quality and variety on show. There were 2 votes dividing first and second place, both had 6 votes as a first choice but the winner had a larger amount of second choice votes and took the crown...
so, in first place

Cath Bamber with 'Shelter'

Second place- Jeanette Cowley

Third place- Ian Ball

Congratulations everyone, your all composition-tastic.

The World Of Glass Exhibition Private View

Well, what can I say? I thought we would have a small gathering to celebrate the end of our night class and the amazing work that was produced. Instead, we had a night brimming with visitors, students, staff and governors, all taken a back by the quality and maturity of the work on show. The smiles of the viewers were a perfect end to the course, what more could I ask for? To see the pride in the faces of the students filled me with a sense of achievement, not because I felt the classes had been a success, but because all my students (in fact all students everywhere) just need to be shown how their creativity can effect others, confidence can not be bought, it must be earned. They most certainly earned it. I'm so proud, this is just the beginning for them.

Many thanks go to Hannah and Mark at The World Of Glass, the art department at De La Salle for the unwavering support and to the very talented Boutique La Salle for sponsoring this event.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be announced on Monday, but I can tell you this...there are 2 votes between first and second place. Its tight!
